Fluid Inclusion Stage
A Fluid-inclusion facility is set-up in the Department of Geology. This facility includes a Linkam THMSG600 programmable heating/cooling stage (information here). The stages will be used on a Nikon Eclipse LV100N microscope equipped with transmitted, reflected, and UV light as well as a QICAM camera. The stage allows to investigate fluid inclusions in the range of -196°C to 600°C; temperature is controlled to within 0.1°C by a Linkam T95 controller.
Clay Fraction preparation
A clay fraction sample preparation facility is currently settling in the department including centrifuge, crusher, sieves... This facility will be designed for XRD and XRF instruments already present in the department (information about the department facilities here).
Raman Microscope
The department of Geology recently acquired a new Renishaw Invia Raman Microscope equipped with both 532 nm and 633 nm lasers. This versatile instrument enable rapid, none destructive analysis of solid, liquid and gas phases. Please contact Brice Lacroix (here) for further information.
